This blog is a collection of personal thoughts and presentations for sharing with friends. It is based on a need to promote awareness and discussion in the Christadelphian community of the imminent possibility that the state of Israel may in large part cease to exist.
The prophetic passages discussed here are mainly from the minor prophets. Interpretation largely applies latter-day fulfilments to past prophecies from Israel's history, on the basis that many of them also include end-time references.
This approach does not fit the commonly accepted view that we are waiting for Russia to invade Israel at which point Jesus will return. Whilst this may be the 'big picture' summary, it looks increasingly as though a very important prior step has been overlooked - the conquest and re-settlement of Israel by Arab nations for an unspecified period of time.
Now the recent events of the Arab Spring have made the threats to Israel from Iran and the Palestinians even more real.
Thus the 'regathering' passages so commonly referred to amongst us to support 'the Miracle of Israel' in 1948 may in fact have their greater fulfilment in a future and final regathering, to end in the kingdom.
Unless this view is at least understood as a possibility, there is a real danger that many in the community will lose their faith as events unfold for which they were not prepared.
